Why is my Suzuki Bolan leaking transmission fluid from underneath the engine?

I noticed a red fluid dripping under the engine area of my 2018 Suzuki Bolan. It looks like transmission oil. What are the usual spots where leaks happen in the Bolan, and how can I identify if it’s a seal, gasket, o r a cracked part?

A leak from underneath your Suzuki Bolan could be due to several common issues, especially if the vehicle is older o r regularly used on rough roads. Transmission fluid is usually reddish o r light brown, and if you’re noticing it on the ground under the engine o r gearbox area, it’s likely a transmission fluid leak.

The most common causes include:

Worn-out oil pan gasket: Over time, the gasket becomes brittle o r damaged, causing fluid to seep out.

Loose o r damaged drain plug: If your mechanic didn’t tighten the drain plug properly during the last service, o r the washer is damaged, fluid can leak.

Axle o r input/output shaft seal failure: These seals wear out and start leaking, especially in high-mileage vehicles.

Hairline cracks in the transmission housing o r oil pan: These can be caused by impact with rocks o r speed breakers.

To confirm the source of the leak:

Clean the underside of the transmission.

Drive a short distance.

Look for fresh oil around seals, bolts, o r the oil pan.

If you catch it early, most of these issues are not expensive to fix. Just don’t delay—running a vehicle with low transmission fluid can damage the gearbox.
