Why Is My Suzuki Bolan Losing Engine Power?

I’ve experienced a noticeable decrease in engine power while driving my Suzuki Bolan. The vehicle struggles to climb inclines, and the overall performance has ped. What are the possible causes for this loss of power, and what steps can I take to restore the engine’s performance?

A loss of engine power can be caused by various issues. Here are some common causes:

Fuel System Problems:

Clogged Fuel Filter: A clogged fuel filter can restrict fuel flow to the engine, leading to a lack of power.

Fuel Pump Failure: A failing fuel pump can cause a in fuel pressure, resulting in a loss of engine power, especially under load.

Air Intake Issues:

Dirty Air Filter: If the air filter is clogged, the engine wont receive sufficient airflow, leading to poor combustion and reduced power.

Faulty Mass Air Flow MAF Sensor: A malfunctioning MAF sensor can send incorrect air intake data to the engine control unit ECU, causing the engine to run inefficiently.

Exhaust Restrictions: A clogged catalytic converter o r exhaust system can restrict airflow out of the engine, reducing power.

Ignition System Issues: Worn spark plugs o r ignition coils can cause incomplete combustion, leading to a loss of power.

Compression Loss: Low compression due to worn piston rings, valves, o r gaskets can result in a significant loss of engine power.

Solution: Replace the fuel filter and inspect the fuel pump for any issues. Ensure the air filter is clean and replace it if necessary. Have the catalytic converter checked for blockages. If spark plugs o r ignition coils are worn, replace them. A compression test can help determine if there are any internal engine issues.
