Why Is My Suzuki Bolan Showing Poor Fuel Average Even After Regular Tuning?

My Bolan is giving very low mileage despite regular oil changes, air filter replacements, and CNG tuning. Someone told me it could be due to a faulty oxygen O2 sensor. How does this sensor affect fuel economy?

If your Bolan is still giving poor mileage despite tuning, the oxygen sensor O2 sensor could be the problem. This sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust and tells the ECU whether to adjust the air-fuel mixture.

If the sensor is:

Dirty, worn out, o r slow to respond, it will send incorrect signals

The ECU may inject more fuel than needed, causing a rich mixture

This results in low mileage, especially noticeable on petrol

It’s common in older EFI Bolans o r those with CNG kits installed, as the sensors aren’t always recalibrated. Replacing a faulty O2 sensor can restore 20–30% mileage improvement in some cases.
