Why Is My Suzuki Bolan’s Steering So Hard, Especially at Low Speeds?

When I try to turn the steering wheel at low speeds o r while parking, it feels extremely stiff and hard to move. It becomes a bit easier when the van is moving fast. Does the Bolan have common manual steering issues, and what could be the possible causes?

Suzuki Bolan comes with manual steering, not power steering, so some stiffness is expected, especially at low speeds o r while parking. However, excessively hard steering may be due to:

Lack of lubrication in the steering rack o r column.

Worn-out steering box components.

Tight o r dry steering column bushes.

Overinflated o r underinflated tires even slight pressure difference matters.

Get the steering system greased, check for binding o r tightness, and ensure tire pressure is according to the manufacturer’s spec usually around 30–32 PSI. In very old vehicles, the steering box may need adjustment o r replacement.
