2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado: Retro Hybrid Reveal
Toyota recently introduced the 250 Series 2024 Land Cruiser Prado, a robust and reliable vehicle designed to cater to customers' lifestyle choices and practical needs. With a focus on simplicity and sturdiness, this Light Duty model promises to deliver an exceptional off-road experience.
New and Improved Chassis:
The latest Prado, along with the 300 Series Land Cruiser, Lexus GX, and LX, shares the GA-F variant of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). Compared to its predecessor, the new Prado boasts a 50% increase in frame rigidity and a 30% boost in total rigidity.
Enhanced Suspension and Off-Road Performance:
Featuring double wishbone suspension with twin-tube shocks in the front and a multi-link rear with coil springs, Toyota promises superior fundamental suspension performance and wheel articulation in the 2024 model. This Prado also marks the first in the new-generation off-roaders to incorporate electric power steering and the Stabiliser Disconnect Mechanism (SDM) for optimized off-road and on-road handling.

Bigger and Bolder Design:
With increased dimensions, the new Prado measures 4,925 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,870 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The boxy and angular design showcases prominent wheel arches, stepped beltline, narrow pillars, and an elevated bonnet, making it reminiscent of the GX model.
Two Striking Front-End Choices:
The 250 Series Prado offers two distinct front-end choices. One takes inspiration from the classic 70 Series, featuring circular headlamps and edge-mounted turn signals. The other option adopts modern, squared-off headlights. Both versions include a rectangular grille, skid plate, and square-themed intake mesh.

Elegant and Practical Interior:
Toyota takes pride in the Prado's interior design, boasting a low beltline, cowl, and instrument panel top surface for enhanced visibility. The user-friendly controls are strategically placed for easy access, making driving a pleasure. The vehicle also comes with the standard Toyota Safety Sense and three rows of seats for passenger comfort and safety.
Diverse Powertrain Options:
Depending on the market, the 250 Series Land Cruiser Prado offers five powertrain options. North America and China receive a hybridized T24A-FTS 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 326 horsepower and 630 Newton-meters of torque. Other regions, like the Middle East and Eastern Europe, get a non-hybrid T24A-FTS with 278 hp and 430 Nm.

Price and Specifications:
While the exact pricing and detailed specifications are yet to be unveiled, the new Prado is anticipated to hit the market with a bang, offering versatile powertrain options, cutting-edge off-road capabilities, and Toyota's renowned reliability.
