Airbus expecting to launch first Flying Car in 2017

The concept of flying cars is not new as many among us have seen such thing in one o r two sci-fiction films. Also with advancement in technology, it doesn’t seems impossible at all and same is the idea of Airbus. The company recently stated that till the end of 2017, they are likely to test a single passenger flying car. If that happens, they you can expect to avoid traffic jams on road and reach your destination in time.
A new “Urban Air Mobility” division was created by the company. The concept behind creating this division was to create a vehicle to transport a single passenger o r several people at a time. It was said by Airbus CEO Tom Enders in Munich at the DLD Digital Conference that the urban transport went underground 100 years ago and now they have the technical resources to take it above the land.
The CEO was hopeful to build a prototype at the end of the year that can take at least one passenger. They are currently in experimental phase and they know the importance of this project as it can prove to be environmental friendly due to pollution in congested cities. Apart from that, it can also save cost as it will reduce the need of building overheads, underpasses and bridges.
The CEO added that being the largest helicopter manufacturers, the company wants to remain in the business by investing on new technologies like Artificial Intelligence AI and driver less cars.
