Baidu is the Chinese tech firm, which has launched the new taxi model, which can drive you around the cities with the use of modern technology. The company has designed the latest masterpiece of technology, Baidu Apollo RT6 and it can self-drive without any input from the driver. The necessary regulations of China relating to self-driving vehicles need the presence of driver in self-driving vehicle. The tech-giant can prophesy that with the use of modern technology, it becomes possible to drive the car without a driver.

There are 38 sensors in the taxi to make the self-driving possible with the use of:

Eight light-detection and ranging (Lidar) sensors

One 6mm (0.2in) wave radar

12 ultrasonic sensors

12 cameras

The tech items are added with high price tag and the current value of Baidu Apollo RT6 is equal to Rs.8.3 million and it is still lower than the previous models of Baidu.

The co-founder and CEO of Baidu said during the official conference that people want to have modern and latest technology items and robo-taxi will be available at the half of the cost, which the taxi takes today. He further said that the company in looking for the cheaper and more efficient solutions and it will help you to minimize the development cost.

The autonomous taxis of Baidu are running in 10 Chinese cities and they have provided over one million rides in service since their launching in the market in 2020. The company wants to increase its operations all over the country in the coming few years.
