Hyundai Cars Prices Increase February 2023
Hyundai Nishat, a leading car manufacturer in Pakistan, has announced a third price hike for its locally assembled cars. This announcement comes at a time when the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has gained 6% of its value against the US Dollar. At the beginning of the month, PKR was being traded at around Rs 277 against a dollar, but it is now being traded at around Rs 260. This marks the second price hike announced by the company within a week, and it is the third one for this year.
It is worth noting that Hyundai Nishat had previously raised car prices in Pakistan after the Federal Government increased the General Sales Tax (GST) from 17% to 18%. However, the latest increase in prices will be applicable on all new orders for April 2023 deliveries and onwards. The locally assembled Hyundai cars in Pakistan will now get pricier by up to Rs 455,000 due to the latest price hike. The move by Hyundai Nishat is likely to have an impact on the already struggling automobile industry in Pakistan, which has been facing various challenges in recent years.
