Islamabad Police Improves Digital License Management

The Digital License Management System (DLMS) of Islamabad police underwent recent updates, enhancing its capabilities to manage information on suspects and e-challan defaulters. The Safe City Command and Control Center furnished a list of 145 violators to the Police Khidmat Center and traffic offices.

In response, 82 violators settled a total of 995 e-challans at the traffic offices, while 63 individuals faced stringent measures, including license suspensions. The fully operational Digital License Management System received its recent update earlier this week, as disclosed by the Chief Police Officer (CPO) Safe City/Traffic.

Traffic rules violators are urged to promptly settle their e-challans, or face legal consequences, with the updated system facilitating more effective enforcement. Safe City cameras, along with the newly introduced Brief Cam alerts, are employed to identify vehicles associated with e-challan violations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Under the directives of Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, the Islamabad police recently initiated a crackdown on traffic law violators. Virk reported a notable reduction of 38,000 cases in traffic violations for October and November 2023 compared to the same period last year, attributing the decline to increased fines and the registration of cases against serious violations, particularly those involving underage drivers and one-way violations.
