Lotus Emeya Set for Grand Unveiling on November 17

Lotus is gearing up for the much-anticipated grand debut of the Emeya at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 17, 2023. This electric sedan marks Lotus' second venture into mass-produced EVs, following the successful launch of the Eletre SUV.

Electric Performance Challenge
Challenging established players like the Tesla Model S Plaid and Porsche Taycan, the Emeya boasts blistering performance at its core. With a rapid acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds, the vehicle offers both a powerful 675 kW/905 horsepower version and a more conservative AWD model with 450 kW/603 hp output, maintaining the practicality of a 4-door, 5-seater sedan.

Impressive Dimensions and Speed Limits
The Lotus Emeya stands as a substantial vehicle, measuring 5,139 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width, and 1,464 mm in height, with a generous wheelbase of 3,069 mm promising ample interior space. The top speed is electronically limited to 256 km/h.

Advanced Architecture and Charging Capabilities
Built on an 800V architecture, the Emeya enables super-fast charging, with up to 180 km of range restored in just 5 minutes using a 350 kW supercharger. The robust 102 kWh battery from CATL contributes to a weight of 2,565 kg, offering an impressive range to compensate for the vehicle's substantial weight.

Technological Prowess Beyond Powertrain
The Emeya showcases technological prowess beyond its electric powertrain. Equipped with two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chips, four LiDARs, and two Nvidia Orin X chips, the vehicle boasts advanced assisted driving capabilities.

Record-Breaking Performance

The Emeya's record-breaking lap time of 1 minute 35 seconds at the Zhejiang International Circuit in China highlights its exceptional handling. The performance version, the Lotus Emeya R+, now holds the title of the fastest EV on this renowned track.

Global Collaboration in Design and R&D
The China-Malaysian company, rooted in British heritage, emphasizes a global collaboration in design and research and development. Splitting these aspects between China and Europe leverages a blend of global expertise.

Production Details and Expected Price
The Emeya is set to roll off the production lines at Geely's plant in Wuhan, with an expected price tag of around RMB 1 million (approximately €127,700). The collaboration between China, Malaysia, and Europe underscores the global nature of Lotus' approach to electric vehicle innovation.
