Lucid Motors Introduces Affordable 2024 Air Sedans

Lucid Motors has unveiled its 2024 model year Air sedans, introducing lower starting prices and expanded customization options in a bid to appeal to a broader audience. Despite facing challenges reflected in widening operating losses, Lucid's recent launch of the Gravity SUV marked a significant milestone. With the Gravity set for production in late 2024, the Air sedan remains Lucid's primary offering.

In an effort to boost sales in the upcoming year, Lucid is revamping its range and introducing its most affordable Air models yet. The 2024 Air sedans aim to provide customers with increased choices and flexibility, especially in the Pure and Touring versions. Some previous Air versions have been discontinued, while existing trims now offer their best features as standard or optional add-ons.

Lucid CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson highlighted the company's commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. The 2024 lineup starts with the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version of the Air Pure, priced at €72,100, positioning it as the most affordable Lucid model to date. Despite a slight reduction in power and acceleration compared to its all-wheel-drive predecessor, the RWD version maintains a similar range while offering a more budget-friendly option. Customers can also opt for the new Comfort & Convenience package, enhancing the driving experience with features like a heated steering wheel and four-zone climate control.

The 2024 Air Touring model, Lucid's most affordable all-wheel-drive option, has also undergone updates, presenting a more attractive pricing structure compared to its 2023 counterpart. The absence of the Performance version in the 2024 Grand Touring raises questions, but Lucid plans to enhance the powertrain and thermal performance of the standard Air Grand Touring. Specific details, including battery capacity, EPA range, and pricing, are expected to be disclosed in early 2024.
