MG Cyberster EV Launches at Guangzhou Auto Show

In a much-anticipated moment, the MG Cyberster EV roadster has been officially launched at the ongoing 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show in China. With a development span of over two years, this electric vehicle had its first appearance earlier this year in the UK and is slated for release in spring 2024. Reservations for the Chinese market were initiated back in September.

Diverse Trim Levels and Price Range

Featuring three distinct trim levels, the Cyberster electric roadster comes with a price tag ranging from 319,900 to 359,800 yuan ($44,300 to $49,800). The manufacturing responsibility for the MG Cyberster EV lies with SAIC in China at the Ningde plant, the same facility responsible for assembling the MG4 electric hatchback. It's important to note that MG, originally a British brand, was acquired by the Chinese state-owned automotive giant SAIC Motor.

Aesthetic Design and Interior Elegance
Drawing inspiration from the classic MG roadster produced between 1962 and 1980, the electric roadster boasts a sleek design with tear-shaped LED headlamps, dynamic bumpers, scissor doors, and a retractable roof. Inside, the driver-centric layout includes a triple LCD screen setup, a central tunnel housing the gear lever and cup holders, and a substantial flat-bottomed steering wheel .

Special Edition Unveiling and Strong Market Response
MG also revealed a striking AWD Special Edition featuring a distinctive red roof, set to hit the market in March 2024. Remarkably, MG reported receiving 1000 pre-orders within just 50 days since reservations opened in China.

Potential Enthusiasm for MG Cyberster EV in Pakistan

The MG Cyberster EV stands out as a promising and exhilarating driving experience. There's the possibility of its introduction as an exclusive import in MG Pakistan's lineup. With the base FWD 501 variant priced at PKR 1.27 crore and the top-tier AWD 520 variant at PKR 1.42 crore, it offers competitive options in the Pakistani automotive market. Considering potential advantages in taxes and registration for electric cars, the Cyberster could be an enticing choice for those with a budget of around PKR 1.5 crore. Notably, MG Pakistan recently launched the MG4 EV in Pakistan, with prices ranging from PKR 1.09 crore to PKR 1.29 crore.
