Motorway Police Mandates M TAG for Traveling On Motorways

The National Highways and Motorways Police NHMP have announced that M-TAG is now mandatory for travelling on motorways. The announcement was made on the official Twitter Handler of NHMP.

The Motorways police say that it is now going to implement the orders issued by Lahore Higher Court LHC.

The Police Department said, According to LHC order only M-Tag travelers will be allowed on the motorways from December 7th, 2021.

In addition, this decision will be helpful in reducing air pollution and long lines of the vehicles on the toll plazas.

Process To Get M-TAG

You can get M Tag by following a very easy process. Just go to a toll plaza and visit M-TAG issuance booth.

You must bring your CNIC, driving license and vehicle registration book with you while visiting M-Tag issuance booth. There are no charges for M-Tag Sticker for your vehicle.

Where To Put M-Tag Sticker

You must put the M-Tag Sticker on the top right corner on the windscreen. The M-Tag Registration Sticker inside the windscreen.

How to Check M-Tag Sticker Status

You can check the status of the sticker of your car by send an SMS with “MTAG CNIC Number” to 9909.

How to Recharge the Sticker?

There are many ways to recharge your Sticker, including:

 Scratch Card
 Easy Paisa
 Jazz Cash
 U-Paisa
 M-2 Customer Care Centre

You can get the scratch card of Rs200 and Rs500 from the entry and exit points of the motorways. The cards are also available at the resting areas on the motorways.

Checking the Balance

You can check the balance by sending SMS to “Balance MTAG ID to 9909.
