Peugeot Updates E-Rifter: Fresh Look, Extended Range
Peugeot has introduced a refreshed E-Rifter, offering a more stylish and efficient compact van with new interior technology. The E-Rifter is now available in three tiers: Allure, Emotion, and Excellence. The latter two configurations are available in 5 and 7 seat options, including an optional longer variant. The standard E-Rifter measures 4.4 meters in length, while the E-Rifter Long version extends to 4.7 meters, offering a longer wheelbase and overhang. The 5-seater variant provides 775 liters of boot space, which can expand to 4,000 liters with the seats folded down in the Long E-Rifter.
Refreshed Design and High Ground Clearance
The new E-Rifter aligns with Peugeot's updated design language, featuring a more aggressive front end with the new emblem and Peugeot's signature three-claw lighting. It comes in two new color options: Sirkka Green and Kiama Blue. The E-Rifter's appeal is enhanced by its high ground clearance, wide wheel arches, side guards, and roof bars.
Enhanced Interior and Technology
Inside, the E-Rifter boasts a new dashboard with a 10-inch touchscreen display. The seats are covered in light grey fabric, and the Zenith roof provides ample storage compartments. Upgrading to the Emotion trim level adds a new 10-inch digital instrument cluster with features like navigation display and a heated leather steering wheel. Emotion also includes advanced safety features such as tiredness warning, traffic sign reading, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, speed limiter, 12 parking sensors, and a 180-degree camera.
Efficient Electric Powertrain
The E-Rifter continues to be powered by a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor with 270 Nm of torque. Notably, it now includes a heat pump, enabling the 50 kWh battery to achieve a range of up to 320 km. Charging options include a 7.4 kW charger or an optional 11 kW three-phase charger, with 100 kW DC support for rapid charging. It takes just 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 80%. Charging to 100% using an 11 kW wallbox takes about 5 hours, whereas a 7.5 kW charger extends the time to 7.5 hours. Charging via a reinforced domestic socket requires 15 hours.
