Peugeot's Big New Electric SUV: e-5008 Unveiled!

Peugeot has unveiled its latest addition to its burgeoning EV lineup, the e-5008 SUV. Promising a blend of spaciousness, style, and cutting-edge technology, this electric SUV aims to make a mark in its segment. Targeting discerning consumers seeking performance, efficiency, and ample space for their families, Peugeot's e-5008 seeks to deliver on its ambitious promises.

Built on the STLA Medium dedicated electric platform, the e-5008 offers versatility with its seven-seater configuration, with power outputs varying depending on the chosen trim. The base model boasts 210 horsepower, while the long-range variant steps it up to 230 horsepower, and the range-topping dual-motor AWD version reaches 320 horsepower. With torque figures ranging across the models, Peugeot aims to provide options catering to diverse driving needs.

While specific details regarding battery capacity remain undisclosed, it's expected that the entry-level model will feature a smaller pack, likely around 73 kWh, with higher trims potentially housing a larger 98 kWh battery. Quick recharge times are promised, with the ability to charge from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes when using a compatible DC charger delivering at least 160 kW.

Inside the e-5008, Peugeot showcases its innovative Panoramic i-Cockpit, complete with a sizable 21-inch infotainment display, standard on the top-trim GT models. The user-friendly interface, combined with features like steering wheel heating and regenerative braking options accessible via dedicated paddles, enhances the driving experience.

Safety is paramount, with the e-5008 boasting an array of driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and semi-automatic lane change capabilities. Backed by Peugeot's comprehensive Allure Care program, offering extended coverage on key components, the e-5008 underscores the brand's commitment to quality and reliability in the EV market.

Set to hit the market in the fall of 2024, the e-5008's pricing details are yet to be unveiled, leaving prospective buyers eager to explore its offerings closer to its showroom debut.
