Are Alloy Rims Safe for Suzuki Khyber o r Should I Stick to Stock Steel Rims?

Many Khyber owners upgrade to alloy rims for aesthetics and weight reduction, but not all alloys are durable, especially cheap ones. This question compares alloy vs. steel rims in terms of safety, performance, ride comfort, and durability on local roads.

Both steel and alloy rims have pros and cons:

Stock Steel Rims:

Durable and absorb shocks better on rough roads

Heavier, which can reduce fuel efficiency slightly

Cheaper and easier to repair if bent

Alloy Rims:

Lighter, which can slightly improve fuel economy and handling

Better aesthetics

Can crack more easily on rough roads if low quality

Recommendation:
If you drive mostly on rough o r rural roads, stick with steel rims. If you’re in the city and want better looks and handling, you can go for good-quality alloy rims not the cheap ones.
