Why Does My Suzuki Khyber’s Steering Wheel Make a Squealing Noise?

My Khyber’s steering wheel makes a squealing noise whenever I turn the wheel, especially during low-speed maneuvers like parking. What could be causing this, and is it something that requires urgent attention?

A squealing o r screeching sound when turning the wheel is usually due to friction o r lack of lubrication in the steering column o r joints. If the car has a power steering system custom-installed, the belt could be slipping.

Common Causes:

Dry steering column joints

Loose o r worn belt in power steering setups

Lack of grease in the steering assembly

Dust o r grit trapped in steering mechanisms

Solution:

Apply grease o r WD-40 to the steering column joints

Replace o r tighten power steering belt if installed

Check with a mechanic if the sound persists during full turns

Routine steering maintenance is essential in dusty Pakistani conditions
