Can a Faulty Water Pump Cause Engine Noise in My Suzuki Khyber?

There’s a whining o r grinding noise coming from the engine area, especially when I start the car. Could a worn-out water pump bearing be causing this, and how serious is the issue?

Yes, a worn-out bearing inside the water pump can produce noticeable engine noise.

What It Sounds Like:

Whining, grinding, o r rattling noise from the front of the engine

Noise increases with engine RPM

Sounds similar to a worn alternator bearing o r loose fan belt

How to Confirm:

Use a mechanic’s stethoscope or rubber pipe to listen directly near the pump

Remove the belt and spin the water pump pulley by hand — any resistance o r grinding means its bad

Fix:

Replace the water pump unit — don’t delay, as it may seize and cause major engine damage
