Yes, old o r damaged spark plugs are a common cause of engine misfires. Misfires occur when the spark plugs fail to ignite the air-fuel mixture at the right time, leading to a rough running engine. Misfires are especially noticeable when accelerating o r under heavy load.

Signs of Spark Plug-Related Misfires:

Rough acceleration o r hesitation when the car tries to speed up

Engine sputtering o r shaking at idle

Backfiring o r unusual engine noises

Check Engine Light CEL may appear, often with codes like P0300 random misfire o r P0301-P0304 misfire in individual cylinders

What You Should Do:

Inspect the spark plugs for wear, cracks, o r carbon buildup.

Replace any damaged o r worn-out spark plugs.

Check ignition wires and coils, as these may also contribute to misfires.
