Could Worn Spark Plugs o r Weak Ignition Coils Be Reducing My Khyber’s Mileage?

My Khyber feels a bit sluggish, and I’ve noticed it’s using more fuel than usual. Could the cause be worn spark plugs o r a weak ignition coil not burning fuel properly, and how can I test o r replace them?

Yes, spark plugs and ignition coils are critical for efficient combustion. If they’re weak, misfiring, o r dirty, the fuel won’t burn completely, leading to wasted petrol and lower mileage.

Signs:

Engine feels jerky o r sluggish

Poor cold starts

Black, oily, o r carbon-fouled spark plugs

Reduced throttle response

Solution:

Replace spark plugs every 10,000 to 15,000 km

Use NGK o r Denso plugs for reliable performance

Get the ignition coil tested with a multimeter or replace if over 5 years old

Cost: Spark plugs ~ PKR 300–800 each Ignition coil ~ PKR 1,200–2,000
