How Can I Prevent Paint Peeling on My Suzuki Khyber’s Body Panels?

A common issue among older Khyber models is paint peeling, particularly on the doors, roof, and fenders. What causes the paint to peel in these areas, and what are the best methods to prevent it o r fix it properly?

Paint peeling also called “delamination” occurs when the paint layer separates from the metal surface. It is common in Khyber models due to age, poor paint adhesion, and weather exposure.

Causes:

Moisture under paint due to poor sealing

Low-quality repaint jobs o r original paint aging

Heat and humidity causing expansion and contraction

Neglect of minor scratches, which leads to paint lifting

Prevention & Fixes:

Touch up scratches immediately to prevent spreading.

Use primer and sealing coats before repainting.

Avoid parking under direct sun o r near coastal areas for long periods.

Once peeling starts, sand the affected area and repaint with proper prep work.
