How Do I Know If My Khyber’s Water Pump Is Leaking?

I’ve noticed wet spots under the engine after parking my car, but the radiator and hoses seem fine. Could this be a water pump leak, and where should I check for signs of coolant dripping?

A leaking water pump is one of the most common causes of gradual coolant loss in older cars like the Khyber.

Where to Check for Leaks:

Look beneath the water pump housing, usually near the fan belt area

Check for a green o r reddish fluid depending on the coolant used

Feel under the engine block after parking overnight for wet spots

Other Clues:

Steam from engine bay

Frequent need to top-up radiator water

White o r chalky residue around the water pump

Solution:

Get it inspected ASAP — small leaks can cause engine overheating and head gasket failure

Replacement recommended if leaking
