Over time, the transmission pan gasket o r other sealing gaskets can dry out, crack, o r deform due to heat and pressure, causing fluid to seep o r leak.

Symptoms:

Fluid buildup around the transmission pan

Visible cracks in the gasket upon inspection

Soft o r degraded gasket material

Solution:

Remove the transmission pan and clean the surface thoroughly.

Replace the old gasket with a new one—preferably a high-quality rubber o r cork gasket.

Use gasket sealant if recommended, but don’t overuse it.

Reinstall the pan evenly and torque the bolts in a crisscross pattern to avoid warping.
