Is a Dirty Carburetor Causing My Suzuki Khyber’s Engine to Sputter?

The Suzuki Khyber uses a carburetor instead of a fuel injection system, and some users notice sputtering during idling o r low-speed driving. Could a dirty o r clogged carburetor be the reason, and how should it be cleaned o r serviced?

Yes, a dirty o r clogged carburetor is one of the top reasons Suzuki Khyber engines sputter, especially at idle o r low speeds. Over time, fuel residues, dust, and debris clog the tiny jets in the carburetor.

Symptoms:

Rough idling o r engine stalls at traffic signals

Hesitation o r jerking at low speeds

Black smoke from exhaust rich mixture

Fixes:

Remove the carburetor and clean it using carburetor cleaner spray o r get it ultrasonically cleaned by a mechanic.

Replace the fuel filter to avoid further clogs.

Adjust idle and mixture screws after cleaning.
