Why Does My Khyber’s Engine Misfire o r Jerk Occasionally? Could It Be a Clogged Fuel Filter?

I’ve noticed my Khyber jerks o r misfires while driving, especially at high speed o r during acceleration. Is it possible that a clogged fuel filter is restricting fuel flow to the engine?

Absolutely — a clogged fuel filter can restrict the flow of petrol to the engine, causing the car to jerk, stall, o r misfire, especially under load.

Common signs:

Jerkiness when accelerating

Difficulty starting

Poor fuel economy

Engine cutting off at high speed o r uphill

Since fuel quality in Pakistan varies, and dirt o r rust can come from old petrol stations o r rusty fuel tanks, the filter gets clogged more often.

Solution:

Replace fuel filter every 20,000–25,000 km

Use high-quality petrol from trusted stations

Replacement cost: around PKR 300–600
