Why is my Suzuki Khyber giving poor fuel average despite proper tuning?

I get around 8–9 km/l in the city, even though I’ve done recent tuning, spark plug replacement, and oil change. My mechanic says the carburetor is fine, but I’m still losing fuel efficiency. Could this be due to a weak fuel pump, leaking fuel lines, o r poor ignition timing? I’m also unsure if the A/C o r tire pressure is affecting mileage. What else should I check to improve fuel average?

Poor mileage in a tuned Khyber could be due to a faulty carburetor, weak fuel pump, o r improper ignition timing. Also, driving with low tire pressure, clogged air filter, o r bad plug wires can reduce fuel economy. If the fuel system leaks o r the float inside the carburetor is stuck, it can waste petrol. Check all vacuum lines and fuel hoses for leaks. Try driving without A/C for a few days and compare mileage. Also, consider using a fuel additive to clean the system.
