In 2023, the motorcycle industry experienced a significant surge in prices, primarily attributed to the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar. Surprisingly, even during periods of stable exchange rates in the latter half of the year, companies like Yamaha continued to raise prices without providing any explicit justification.

The Pinnacle of Price: Suzuki GR 150

To illustrate the impact, the Suzuki GR 150 currently holds the title for the most expensive mainstream motorcycle, priced at Rs. 547,000. Remarkably, this model also witnessed the most substantial price increase throughout the year, soaring by Rs. 162,000 between January and December 2023.

Honda Bike Prices on the Rise

In the realm of Honda motorcycles, the cost escalation was evident across various models. The CD 70 and CD 70 Dream witnessed price hikes of PKR 36,400 and PKR 39,000, respectively, over the last 12 months. Meanwhile, the popular CG 125's price surged from Rs. 185,900 to Rs. 234,900, marking a substantial increase of Rs. 49,000 during the same period.
