Complete Guide for Selling Your Bike

People do the selling and buying of the new and used bikes. The buying of new bike is little bit easy as you buy the new motorbikes from the authorized dealer but you buy the used bike from market or from any person, which seems little bit difficult. You can contact with any dealer or used bike market and sometimes, you can buy the bikes at the lower prices.

You face some issues of buying or selling the used motorcycles and also problems in transferring of bike to buyer through dealer. Visit a Mechanic

When you sell the bike, you should ensure that bike is in excellent condition. The good-conditioned bike will impress others and such bikes can grab attentions of others. You need to take the bike to the workshop and ensure that your mechanic is an expert person and he may be asked to check the bike with complete detail and ensure the complete working of plug, filter, engine / shocks seals, battery condition, battery water and electric wiring.

• Sale Invoice

• Sale Invoice Carbon Copy

• Authority Letter

• Covering Letter

• Form “F”

• Sale Certificate

• Sale Certificate Carbon Copy

You should ensure having all these above-mentioned documents so that you can sell the bike easily. Punjab government has now made bio metric process essential for transfer/registration of the vehicles, so you need to complete the process of transfer after selling your bike.

Take Good Quality Pictures

After preparing your bike for selling, you need to take some pictures of the bike and post them online. You can take these pictures at day times and they should be clear and in good day light and they will show complete condition of the bike. If the light condition is bad, then it will not give good look of the bike and it will leave bad impression on the potential buyers.

To ensure quality pictures of the bike, you need to choose the clean and bright background and they will increase the chances of selling your motorbike. Take the pictures of your bike from all angles like front, rear, side, seat cover, speedometer, tyres, engines and shocks and buyer would know the bike from these pictures.

Setting a Price

Before setting price of the bike, you need to check the market online and offline and you can know the trend of price setting. If you set the high price, the buyer will not contact with you and you should be ready for negotiation and show your flexibility at the time of selling the bike. If you got some repair work or install the aftermarket accessories, like meter, headlight and shocks, mention them in the ad and buyer can understand the reason of setting this price.

Post an Ad

Now you can post your ad online and as you know that some online markets are selling the used bikes. You need to ensure the fast selling of the bike and give proper description of the bike with complete detail like features, mileage and model.

If there is any issue, mentioned it there, whether it is mechanical or documentary, you need to show them completely and it will make you ad interesting and fascinating.

Meet the Customer

When you get good offer, you need to chose the best one and set the meeting place with your buyer and you need to take a friend with you and tell everything about your bike and answer the questions of the buyer politely.

You can offer him the short test drive and sit behind him and the buyer can check to get the information of this bike. You should be flexible and ready to negotiate the price of the bike.

Mode of Payment

You should choose the perfect mode of payment as the price of bike is not settled in high price, so you can deal in cash. Try to accept the whole settled amount from the buyer and if you deal in installments they can create some issues for you at the later stage. If you sell the expensive bike, the buyer can transfer the payment in your bank account and confirm the transfer of amount and finalize the deal with the customers.

Transfer the Bike

After settling the deal of buying the bike, you need to accept the cash and handover the bike to the buyers as it can create some legal issues for you. You should visit the Excise office and complete the transfer of your bike through the bio metric system and pay the minimal charges for this transfer and complete the process of transferring the bike to the buyer.

If you want to sell the bike through the dealer, they have an agent in the market and visit them after finalizing the deal and give the thumb impression and ensure that buyer should also do so and the bike can be transferred to the new owner legally.
