The local market continues to witness a wave of price reductions, with GuGu Motors being the latest to join the trend following Kia, Peugeot, and Suzuki. The company has slashed the rates for its electric hatchback, the GiGi EV. Initially showcased at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2023, where it garnered significant attention, the GiGi EV is once again in the spotlight due to its reduced price. Previously priced at Rs. 4,650,000, the car's new revised price stands at Rs. 3,900,000, marking a substantial reduction of Rs. 750,000. This price adjustment may reignite interest among potential customers, prompting them to consider purchasing the small electric car.

The GiGi EV 220 boasts a design inspired by the MG Comet, featuring a two-door layout with keyless entry. Noteworthy exterior elements include illuminated emblems, a robust profile with curvature to counteract its compact size, and various functional features such as headlamps, DRLs, and bumpers. However, some aspects like the 13-inch tires and faux diffusers may detract from its overall appeal. Despite its shorter wheelbase offering excellent maneuverability, concerns have been raised regarding the suspension's effectiveness on uneven urban roads.

Internally, the GiGi 220 EV offers a comfortable cabin experience, with cushioned bucket seats and modern aesthetics. While accommodating four adults may prove challenging due to space constraints, the rear seats are suitable for children. Technologically, the car incorporates safety features like ABS and traction control, along with driver assistance features such as a 7-inch information cluster panel, Bluetooth connectivity, and parking sensors, enhancing both safety and convenience.

In terms of fuel economy, the GiGi 220 EV demonstrates commendable performance, with a driving range of 220 km and a charging time of 6 hours. Its electric powertrain offers a top speed of 80 km/h in normal mode and 110 km/h in sport mode, with mileage ranging from 130 to 160 km without AC. Additionally, the car boasts low maintenance requirements, with a lifespan of 3000 charging cycles per battery and reduced efficiency to 70% after covering 500,000 km.
