Hyundai & Kia Builts New Platform For Electric Vehicles

The trend of electric vehicles production is increasing rapidly globally. The world’s renowned automakers are planning to produce electric vehicles to provide the auto industry with powerful and environment friendly vehicles. The automakers are in search to have a perfect EV production formula to provide the market with most efficient and durable vehicles.



To accomplish the demand and provide the efficient electric vehicles in future, Hyundai has established a platform for EVs. This is known as the latest Electric Global Modular Platform E-GMP. Under this platform Hyundai, Kia and Genesis EVs will be assembled from 2021 and onwards. According to Hyundai, it will launch 23 new electric vehicles to its global lineup under this platform.



According to reports, the first car under this platform is the Hyundai Ioniq-5. This car will set to produce very soon. The key component of this production will be battery of the car. The Ioniq-5 will have a battery with one motor, inverter and transmission manufactured by Hyundai.



Hyundai Motors claims that the powertrain design will have an ability to increase the maximum speed of the motor up to 70% as compared to the motor already available in the market.

According to the automaker, the new Electrical Global Modular Platform E-GMP will provide up to 600 hp and will run up to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds. The company has also shared its plan with the industry’s leading dealers and manufacturers.

Hyundai Said that it has designed an 800-volt architecture for the batteries by which the batteries will be charged up to 350KW and will be able to charge the battery up to 80% in just 18 seconds. The E-GMP vehicles will also come with a specific feature for restoring the charging and discharging powers to send back to grid o r power house.
