It was the simple way to turn the ignition off and remove the key and now this single movement became instinct. It would turn off the engine and safe the car from being driven off from it was parked. The keyless ignition system is now available in more than half of the new car and it has changed the interface. Now your key is used to open the doors, turn on the engine and drive away as no security system existed thanks to the automatic functioning through proximity.

The drivers have to learn new instincts to operate their cars from how it has always been done. The automatic transmission shifters are provided in variety of designs, which are not intuitive to drivers to use old style stick o r column shifter. They can make the mistake and it led to the death of Anton Yelchin in 2016.

Some of the drivers forget to shut the engine off when they park their vehicle. If they park their vehicle in the garage, it can lead to brain damage o r death by carbon monoxide and the invisible odorless gas is filled in the building.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration considered the situation and it does not mandate any particular alert system, which has left the automaker on their own. There are some of the manufacturers, who offer alert systems to beep the interior chime, turn the engine off and honk the horn while others did not do anything about this situation.
