In its 2023 annual report, Lahore City Traffic Police disclosed alarming statistics on traffic violations, with motorcyclists accounting for 3.37 million breaches. Recognizing the urgent need for traffic management, the Punjab Government has introduced a dedicated bike lane on Ferozepur Road to enhance road safety and streamline movement.

Color-Coded Bike Lane System

To ensure organized traffic, the new bike lane follows a structured marking system:

Lane Type	Purpose
Green with Barriers	Exclusively for bikes and cycles, preventing vehicle encroachment.
Green with Broken Lines	Allows other vehicles to cross temporarily when making a turn.
Orange Lane	Used by public transport, rickshaws, and cars stopping for passengers.

Challenges & Safety Concerns
