Watch for Common Tire Problems:
Cracking and bulging – When you hit a pothole, debris or curb, the cracks and bulges are developed. Due to chronic under-inflation, the large cracks are developed on the sidewall of the tires. The small cracks can come from ages or exposure to the elements in the tread blocks or sidewall. Bulges are made on the side wall because of the impact and internal damage and it necessitates the replacement. You need to use the tire protection to enhance the life of the tire.
Cupping – The tire with cupping will be looked as the alternative pattern of hills and valleys on surface of the tire. The cupping can be developed when your car has damaged suspension that creates the bounce to tire during the trip. Some parts of the tire come down harder than other parts of the car. When the tires are out of balance they may cup.
Heel-toe – When one side of the tread is worn out faster than other side of the tire then this problem is created. You can also see the shoulder rib, which is result of the excessive or negative toe and this problem can be settled by the suspension realignment.
Feathering – The feathering shows the appearance of the tread blocks, which they look like the series of ramps in the directional wear pattern to move sideways across the tire. The lower edges of the ramps are rounded with higher edges as they are sharp and the problem can be settled by correcting toe settings.
Tire Conicity Problems – The belts of the tire must be centered and if they are out of position even by a millimeter, it can be the reason of steering pull. The position of outermost leave great impact on the directional stability of the car and the off-center belt will lead to one side to create the problems for the tire.
