Mercedes Benz Trucks Assembly in Pakistan by NLC

National Logistics Cell NLC signed the memorandum of understanding MoU with German Daimler AG for the production of world known Mercedes Benz trucks in Pakistan.
Major General Mushtaq Faisal, DG NLC and Zia Ahmed, CEO Pak NLC Motors on the behalf of NLC and Klaus Fischinger, head of Executive Committee and Dr Ralf Forcher, head of sales at Woerth, Germany signed the agreement on the behalf of Mercedes Benz Special Trucks. Naseem Shaikh, director and general manager, Shahnawaz Ltd and Ahmed Naseem of Shahnawaz Ltd, authorized distributor of Daimler AG in Pakistan were also present on this occasion.

The local assembly of Mercedes Benz trucks by NLC will mark the main shift in domestic logistics and transportation industry towards the European manufacturers.
The Major General Faisal termed the MoU as the historic moment for the commercial vehicle industry of Pakistan. He said that the assembly of Mercedes Benz trucks is the strategic opportunity to leverage modernization of the logistic industry of Pakistan to get the benefit from the state of the art assembly plant in Pakistan.

The incentives are provided in auto policy 2016-2021 and the assembled Mercedes Benz trucks will be provided in the market at the competitive rates. It will bring the qualitative change in vendor industry and it will offer the opportunities for new jobs.
The member of Executive Committee and head of sales and marketing, Mercedes Benz Special Trucks, Dr Ralf Forcher said that the infrastructure and construction sectors of Pakistan registered the significant growth with direct effect on logistic industry, which can give rise to increased demand for the commercial vehicles .
