OGRA TESTS CONFIRMED THAT THE PETROL IS DAMAGING THE CARS EN

OGRA reports have supported Honda claim, as the car companies has stated that the oil companies are using harmful chemical in order to fake higher the quality of the petrol.
Honda atlas in 2017 claimed a complaint to oil and gas regulatory authority claiming that the oil companies are using harmful chemical in petrol that is affecting its car engine. Honda said to the OGRA that the oil companies are using manganese to increase the research octane number to meet OGRA standard.
As now the Honda claim has proved right as the samples of the tests has been made public. And according to the report it is been said that the oil importers and refineries are using chemicals to increase the quality of petrol.
TESTS AND REPORTS
The tests were been carried out by OGRA and hydrocarbon development institute of Pakistan, and the tests showed an excessive presence of chemical in petrol.
In the report the content and amount of the chemical present in the petrol has been told harmful for the vehicle and environment as well as the human health. Then it was also stated by the report that the chemicals are being used by the importers and the oil companies to increase the RON value at a low cost.
The complaint was done by the Honda after the company halted the booking of the new variant of Honda city. The company told that the fuel is causing engine knocking and sensor failure in Honda civic 1.5l turbo.
Hascol petroleum also supported Honda complaint. The company also told that many other refineries are also using chemicals in order to increase the RON value, the accused company said that the hascol petroleum is trying to get competitive advantage out of all this and the company also uses the same methods.
After the tests done on petrol with 90 to 92 RON value by OGRA and HDIP they found the following chemicals in it:
• Manganese: 63.31 parts per million ppm to 315.5 ppm.
• Iron: 6.2 to 35.1 ppm.
• Manganese in imported petrol: 1.62 ppm.
• Iron in imported petrol: 63.88 ppm.
According to the report the oil companies are using MMT and ferrocene to increase the RON value. These chemicals make the catalytic convert choke after reacting with it. These metallic particles are also dangerous for the environment and the human health as well.
