Pakistan Auto Sector Growth

Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association launched the sales and production of locally assembled cars during August. The sales figures revealed the improvement in sales of Honda cars in August, when you compare it with July this year. The company, Honda Pakistan sold 3820 units in July while this company has sold 3946 units during August, which has shown the increase of 126 vehicles. When you combine the sales of Honda Civic and Honda City cars, Honda Pakistan stopped production and sale of civic turbo model.

Toyota Pakistan faced different situation and Toyota Indus Motors sold 3875 units of Corolla in July 2017 and 4782 units in August 2017. There is increase of 907 units in only one month. Honda posted combined sales of its sedans and Toyota is selling Corolla in sedan category.

Suzuki Pakistan sales ped from 1894 units in July to 1776 units in August. The sale of WagonR is increased from 1936 units to 2201 units in August. The sale of Suzuki Swift has shown the slight improvement from 288 units in July to 434 units in August. Suzuki Mehran is still on the rise from 2863 units to 3963 units and Pak Suzuki sales was increased 14% MoM basis.

Toyota Fortuner is the SUV and it has been in high demand since its introduction in the market and it sold 265 units in August 2017.Honda is selling BR-V as SUV and it is sold in 720 units in August, which can be compared to 691 units in July 2017. Pakistani auto sector has shown the growth on month over month basis and the sales have been increased by +10% MoM to 198.15K units. The sales of the passenger cars were increased by +14% MoM basis. The healthy growth in the sales of the automobiles is good for our GDP and for the overall economic growth in auto industry.
