Smart Phones Has Been Turned Into Digital Car Keys By BMW

The smart phone car key isn’t a new concept. We have already seen this concept in the tesla company vehicles as the tesla vehicle relying on the smart phones app through which you can control the vehicle all the way from locking and unlocking to the starting and pre heatingcooling the car before you get into the car for drive. This time bmw is also bringing almost the same concept for its cars. At MWC Barcelona bmw has already revealed its new technology. The person with a Samsung phone will be able to access this feature from the early July this year.



In simple words this means that the owner have to download the bmw connect app which will then able the owner to unlock the car and for starting the engine you just have to place your Samsung phone on the wireless charging pad, that’s it. At this point it is not known whether the future bmw cars will only have smart phone key as the only option just like the tesla model 3, but till then it’s just a show off feature rather than a useful one. As the smart phones are getting too much involved in our lives. BMW thinks that losing key is easier than losing a smart phone and that’s true. For making this feature on the safer side bmw has also looked out for expectations. Five people can have a backup key of your smart key if fate decides to go against you.



In case if you don t know about the flagship model from bmw were already using Samsung made tablets and key fobs which have different functionalities built in. so it’s not a surprise that the Samsung phones will be the first to get this feature, however as the time passes new manufacturers will be added too. I like this feature a lot, but I hope that the bmw also retains the regular key to do all the exact same things for the people who think technology is over rated.
