Almost a year post its IMV-0 concept reveal in December 2022, Toyota has officially launched the all-new pickup in Thailand, naming it the Hilux Champ.

Functional Design and Easy Customization
The production version closely mirrors the concept, emphasizing utility with flat, squared-off edges for practicality. It allows for easy bumper and panel replacement, reducing downtime in case of damage. The truck prioritizes function over form, offering an "IKEA-like" approach with quick and easy module installations for various activities behind the passenger cab.

Practical Interior for Commercial Use
Designed primarily for commercial and utility purposes, the interior is kept simple with flat panels and hard plastic trimmings. However, it provides ample storage compartments and a washable floor for practicality.

Notable Features and Safety
The Hilux Champ comes equipped with features such as multi-reflector headlamps, power side mirrors, adjustable steering wheel, Toyota T-Connect system, and safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, and 3-point ELR seatbelts.

Engine Options and Transmission
With three engine options, including 2.0L and 2.7L petrol engines and a 2.4L turbodiesel, the Hilux Champ offers versatility. Transmission choices vary, with the 2.0L engine paired with a 5-speed manual and the others with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Diverse Configurations and Specialized Bodies
Available in cab and chassis or single-cab pickup configurations, Toyota collaborates with body assemblers to offer specialized bodies like delivery trucks, medical vehicles, small business trucks, camping trucks, and motorhomes.

Pricing Details
The entry-level 2.0L petrol variant starts at 459,000 baht (PKR 36.77 lac), the mid-spec 2.7L petrol variant ranges from 487,000 baht (PKR 39.01 lac) to 499,000 baht (PKR 39.97 lac), and the top-spec 2.4L diesel variants are priced between 499,000 baht (PKR 39.97 lac) and 577,000 baht (PKR 46.22 lac).

Regional Expansion
After Thailand, the 2024 Toyota Hilux Champ is set to be introduced in other ASEAN markets, including Indonesia and the Philippines, with the possibility of further global expansion.
