Toyota Unveils First Electric Sedan in China
FAW and Toyota have launched their first electric sedan in Chinese market and these EV were highly anticipated cars. The electric vehicle is dubbed bZ3, which competes with Tesla Model 3, Changan Shenlan SL03, Volkswagen e-Golf and other similar electric cars. The customers are pleased with the news that Toyota Unveils First Electric Sedan in China.

Toyota made the partnership with FAW Group of China and BYD to develop this new EV. The first electric SUV, bZ4X of the company was produced after making the collaboration with GAC Motor. Toyota has made the plan to launch bZ3 in China and the initial price of the car is about $28,000 (Rs.6.1 million).
Details
Toyota bZ3 has the Blade LFP battery pack of BYD and the size of the battery is under wraps. The automaker says that the car has the potential to travel up to 600 kilometers on full charge.
The car, bZ3 will be added with two single-electric motor option and one is in the lower trim level, which can produce 183 hp and the other is available in the higher trim level, which can produce 244 hp. Both the variants of this company gives the power to the rear wheels.

The EV will be provided with all Toyota Safety Sense features like lane-keeping assistance, avoidance, collision warning, adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking, road sign assist and automatic high beam.
The compact EV faces the huge competition in China and they will struggle to grab the sizeable market share among the most economical EVs.
Restrategizing EV Development
Toyota announced the electric vehicle adoption strategy last year. The new reports of the company indicate that the company may go back to drawing board. Toyota has formed the internal group to make the strategies for the improvement in the current e-TNGA flexible EV platform or they develop their new EV architecture. The e-TNGA platform is used in bZ4X crossover SUV and it will underpin new coming Lexus RZ 450e in 2023.
Sources claim that the EV development process of Toyota is slow and expensive, when you compare it with other manufacturers. In order to resolve this issue, Toyota plans to rework the RV development strategy.
