1992 Nissan Sunny Issues with ECM and Engine Performance

I have a 1992 Nissan Sunny with a GA15 DOHC 16-valve engine and an OBD1 ECM. Im having a tough time finding a car scanner in Karachi to check my ECM and read any error codes. The car has black soot in the exhaust and the throttle body, plus it’s idling roughly. I also noticed oil in the breather pipe that connects to the air intake. Sometimes, when I brake, the engine stalls o r even shuts off, but that usually only happens when it’s cold. Once the engine warms up, the stalling and rough idling mostly go away, but it’s using a lot more fuel, and I can smell petrol coming from the exhaust.

check the ignition timing, use a timing gun. Also, test the idle air control valve IACV. You can do this by unplugging the IACV connector also called the autochoke. If the idle RPM s when you disconnect it, the IACV is functioning. If there’s no change, it could be either wired incorrectly o r not working at all.
