Conversion from Point to CDI On Sunny '87-88

Enlisted are the questions:

1-What is the difference between Point and CDI
2-Someone suggested to convert my Nissan Sunny (1.0 LX 1987) point system to CDI. Is it feasible? Yes/No, do explain.

Answer to 2nd point.
My Sunny 1974 is converted to CDI system from point system and its working great. Mechanic bought CDI distributor of new model sunny from Bilal gunj Lahore and fitted its CDI kit in old Distributor.. and it costed me around 2k Rs
