iphone’s new technology regarding the operating car to start, lock and unlock is released now. Using this latest technology it will be more convenient to control the Car. The newly introduced technology is the first beta of iOS 13.4. The 9to5 Mac Discovery claims that this feature might be used with an iPhone o r Apple Watch.

In iOS 13.4 a “CarKey“API is featured which makes your iPhone o r Apple Watch a Key to control the NFC compatible car by holding near to it. The Key will not ask for the Face ID for verification after initial paring and it might work as the Express Transit Cards.

9to5 Mac Discovery also explained that the digital car key would be shared via other’s Apple Device. According to some details it is not a new technology and some carmaker already give this opportunity to operate the car with their mobile apps. But they have set some limitations to use the technology, for Example, the digital key android app is provided by Hyundai which is used with 2020 Sonata only.

Some specific features must be in your Car to use this technology. For example, Volvo’s On Call app requires a vehicle with a Volvo on Call Telematics Unit. This feature will only work with NFC-compatible cars; hence, a number of older models are already out of the question.
