Renault Introduces New Kardian SUV for Emerging Markets
Renault has recently introduced the Kardian, a compact crossover SUV designed specifically for emerging markets. Manufactured entirely in Brazil as part of Renault's global strategy until 2027, the Kardian is set to make its mark as a successor to the Renault Sandero, positioned above the popular Kwid.
Tailored for South America: A Unique Design
Built on a CMF platform, the all-new Renault Kardian is tailored to suit the South American market. Initially available in Brazil, the Kardian's presence is expected to expand to Morocco later on. Notably, this model represents the first vehicle outside of Europe to embrace Renault's latest design language.
Impressive Dimensions and Stylish Features
In terms of dimensions, the Kardian measures 4,119 mm in length, 2,025 mm in width, and 1,595 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2,604 mm. It boasts a generous ground clearance of 209 mm. The Renault Kardian's design is characterized by distinctive split headlights, robust front and rear bumpers, and a prominent double-layer grille, all in line with Renault's recognizable design identity. The rear of the vehicle showcases C-shaped taillamps reminiscent of the Renault Kiger. Higher-end models come equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and chrome accents.

Modern Interior and Powerful Performance
Inside the Kardian, you'll find an elegant dashboard featuring a drive mode selector, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a three-spoke steering wheel, maintaining Renault's signature SUV design elements. Depending on the trim level, the interior incorporates wood inlays, piano black accents, and faux brushed metal accents.
Under the hood, the all-new Renault Kardian is powered by a newly developed 1.0L turbo-petrol engine, mated to a 6-speed DCT automatic transmission. This engine generates 123 hp of power and 220 Nm of torque, offering versatility with the option to run on either petrol or ethanol.
Renault's Strategic Entry into Emerging Markets
The Renault Kardian represents Renault's strategic entry into specific markets, carefully tailored to local preferences and needs. With its compact crossover design, modular platform, and newly developed engine, it aims to meet the demands of the South American market and promises to be a noteworthy addition to Renault's global lineup.
