Warning to People Drive Vehicle on Open Letter

The Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab issued the warnings to people, who drive the vehicles on open letters. The authority gave 10 days to citizens to register their vehicles on their names and if they do not do so then their vehicle registration will be cancelled.


The media reports show that the step has been taken for the implementation of e-challan in the city. It is already reported that the registration of the vehicles against their names, previous owners but it is useless for the new owners. The concerned authority has issued Warning to People Drive Vehicle on Open Letter.

There are about 800,000 vehicles, which are running on the roads on the open letter. The concerned authority has prepared the list of the 300,000 cars and 500,000 bikes and they have decided to take serious action against them. This is not the first time that the authority has warned the people to drive the cars on the open letter. The excise department has issued similar warnings and we will see what the excise department does this time?

 The e-challan system was launched during September 2018 and any violation of over speeding, wrong u-turns, breaking signals and ignoring the traffic signs are monitored by the authorities with the use of CCTV cameras, which are installed in the city. When the violation of rules is detected, the e-ticket fine is generated by system and it is sent to the violator through courier service.


Punjab Safe Cities Authorities take the action immediately and it issues the violators e-challan so that they can ensure in the improvement of system.
