Xiaomi SU7 Electric Car Begins Mass Production
Media reports from China indicate that Xiaomi's SU7 is set to start mass production in mid to late February. Due to potential disruptions from the Chinese New Year festival, production is expected to kick off after the break, concluding on February 19.
Initial production of Xiaomi's debut electric car in March is anticipated to be limited to 2,000 units, with a gradual increase in capacity up to 10,000 units by July. The company aims to sustain this level post-July, with the commencement of mass production followed by the first deliveries, though the specific timeline remains undisclosed.
The SU7 Max, priced around $50,950 according to reports, is expected to hit the market. Xiaomi officially launched the much-anticipated electric vehicle, the SU7, in late December. During the launch event in Beijing, China, founder and CEO Lei Jun unveiled the vehicle, expressing the company's ambition to rank among the top 5 global automakers in the next 15 to 20 years. Lei Jun emphasized Xiaomi's goal of creating a dream car on par with Porsche and Tesla.
