Recent sightings of the Xiaomi SU7 on a Chinese highway have stirred excitement. Despite being camouflaged, the distinctive features of the SU7 are discernible, showcasing the EV in dynamic motion. A video capturing the moment reveals an intriguing encounter with the prototype.

High-Speed Evasion: A Closer Look at SU7
As the observer accelerated to approach the SU7, the prototype's driver responded by increasing speed and deftly changing lanes. The impromptu chase suggests the SU7's capabilities, potentially reaching speeds exceeding 200 km/h during the encounter.

Design and Specifications Unveiled
Even under heavy camo, the SU7's rear view impresses with its sleek design. According to Chinese authorities, the SU7 will offer a rear-wheel-drive option featuring a 220 kW motor, a top speed of 210 km/h, and an LFP battery pack from BYD. Additionally, a higher-end all-wheel-drive model with two motors producing 495 kW, a top speed of 265 km/h, and an NMC ternary battery from CATL is in the pipeline. The active rear wing adds a touch of sophistication to the design.


Manufacturing and Launch Details
The state-owned BAIC Off-road Vehicle Co. will handle the contract manufacturing of the Xiaomi SU7. The EV boasts dimensions comparable to the Tesla Model S, measuring 4,997 mm by 1,963 mm by 1,455 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Set to launch in the first quarter of the upcoming year, the SU7 is expected to carry a price tag of approximately CNY 300,000, equivalent to about €39,100 based on current exchange rates. The market eagerly awaits Xiaomi's entry into the electric vehicle landscape.
